(Entry #3)

And finally, today I got to helping Scotty with boxing up the shop. For those unaware, he and I (mostly he) had a semi-functioning comic shop for several months. Now we're entering the "putting the leftovers into storage" stage.

Upside: I can get stuff cheap. Today I picked up a cool messenger bag and a Superman shirt, and a couple toys. As I writh this, I realize that I should talk about many of these things. So:

a) I think everyone should own a Superman shirt. Seriously.

b) This Monev the Gale figure from Trigun is the coolest thing ever. I mean, I have figures I value more (my Maxx is a prize that I truly hold dear), but this guy is a technical masterpeice. For starters: He's clear. That's always points with me. BUT: He has glow-in-the-dark bones!!!!! Holy shit, right?? That's really the tops. But also, 27 points of articulation. That's also cool. But on top of all that: He has beltfed guns, and you have to put the belts together by stringing little bullets onto long, thin springs. It's really excellent.

c) The Bushman H-102. This model is just a sorta generic mech robot guy, but the thing is: I had one when I was a kid. Or rather, my dad had one. I remember helping him put it together, and painting it camo. This is, honestly, one of the few things I clearly remember about my father, so I was really jazzed when I saw it in the catalog, and I made Scotty order one. Now all I have to do is learn to put together models that aren't snap-tite...
